Goa, which has created a lot of expectations could not live upto the expectations, as it has failed to come out with a viable storyline or interesting screenplay. All that it offers is some funny and many irritating scenes spoofing Tamil commercial movies without appropriate premise or justification.

The story (?) is all about three jobless youngsters Saamikkannu (Premji Amaren), Ramarajan (Vaibhav), and Vinay (Jai), from a small village landing on Goa to find white skinned foreign girls to marry and get settled. Venkat Prabhu has taken on the mainstream Tamil films at his will to make his film interesting. He takes too much liberty in telling you the story. The logic is thrown into the sea and the fun and glam seem to be the only concern. Raising questions like why Sampath supports these youngsters and how Pia falls in love with Jai, and why Sneha behaves in a bizarre manner would be a futile exercise.

To cut a long story short, Goa's is a predictable and tiring ride. The movie has nothing but white skinned bikini babes, exotic beaches, and lot of spoof comedy.

Director Venkat Prabhu, who had given us a lively show in Chennai 28 and a smart presentation in Saroja, has failed to find his rhythm. His natural flair for fun filled moments has been replaced by his desire to spoof Tamil films. He has forgotten to add some original story and a viable screenplay.

The characterisation too is not done well. All the six main characters (the heroes and the heroines) fail to impress. Sneha’s character in particular, is so irritating though the girl looks charming and enacts her role well. Pia looks cute and acts well. Melanie is so sweet. Vibhav, Jai, and Premji are too predictable to impress. Sampath and Aravind Krishna, playing the gays, add different flavor to the fare. Venkat Prabhu’s courage to portray a homosexual relationship is applaudable. That he has done it with fun makes it more interesting.

Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is a treat to the ears.

The tag line says it is ‘Venkat Prabhu’s holiday’. Unfortunately this holiday seems to be more tiring than the working day.
