Swetha Menon, a model-turned actress has hogged all limelight playing part of many advertisement commercials. She had acted in various languages wining accolades. Her popular Malayalam movie Kayam in which she played a dejected woman with a disturbed childhood , has been dubbed and released as Tharam. It stars ManoK Jayan, Bala and Aparna in lead roles.

The movie tells the story of a youth played by Manoj K Jayan and his one Thamarai (Shwetha Menon). Manoj K Jayan Choonda is a fisherman. He is also the leader of the Kabaddi Team of the village. Thamarai is a native of the neighboring village. She has watched her mother being brutally raped and murdered. Tired with every man out there vying for her body, she flees with Manoj to his village.

Sasi (Bala), leader of another Kabaddi team, contests with Manoj. Manoj realises that Bala is his brother from whom he had been separated for long. Bala realises the truth as well, and stays back in the village. He has also fallen in love with a local girl Muthu (Aparna).

The movie has many twists and turns and all ends well. However the highlight of movie are some steamy scenes involving Swetha Menon. Perhaps it has prompted the producers to release the movie in Tamil version.

The movie is directed by Anil K Nair and is written by Viju Ramachandran. Music is by Mohan Sithara, cinematography by Sadath and editing by P C Mohanan.
